Most photographers have an obsession with hands. I find it so interesting what women do with their hands when their girlfriends, sisters or mom is helping them get the dress on. This year I tried to document all of my brides’ hands as they were getting into their gowns. The words confidant, nervous, excited come to mind. There’s no right or wrong way. Everybody is different. Take a look:

Women are beautiful. <3

Jacksonville Wedding Photographer

CAITLIN & JONATHAN¬†met at church a few years ago. That in itself is a miracle because it’s really hard to meet people in the cozy, historical town of St. Augustine! (I know because that’s where I went to college.) When Caitlin first posted a photo of the two of them I think we all knew that this would be THE guy. These two flannel lovers were perfect for each other. I was delighted when she asked me to shoot her wedding in Jacksonville, FL this January!

From the amazing florals and dress details (and hair OMG) to all the of hilarious guests dancing the night away — this wedding was so very special. We are all so thrilled that you two found each other. Watching your love for each other on your wedding day was so refreshing and adorable!

Now for one of my favorite parts of the day — getting ready!

First look with dad. So cute!

Ummm….hi gorgeous!

Grand Hyatt Denver Wedding – Rachel + Nate

One thing is for sure. Nate loves his Rachel. These two found true happiness and it is so endearing!

The beautiful couple was wed at The First Baptist Church of Denver. And their gorgeous reception overlooking the Mile High City was at The Pinnacle Club at the Grand Hyatt Denver.

Rachel and Nate started as friends, but Nate had a plan. He eventually sent Rachel a Snapchat that would change their lives forever. <3 Later they moved from Denver to Illinois and eventually to Virginia Beach (where Nathan is a Captain in the Air Force).

On July 3, 2015, Rachel dragged Nate on a skydiving adventure that, little did she know, would be the beginning of their forever adventure.¬†The pilot had Nate jump¬†a few minutes early so that he could set up his cute¬†sign, “Rachel Ellen Smith Will You Marry Me? Yes No Maybe”with a pen next to each box.¬†She of course checked yes.

When I first met with Rachel’s mom, Ellen, to talk about her daughter’s wedding she showed me a photo of the two of them. My first thought was, “WOW. Those will be some cute babies!” Haha! Ellen was so giddy about the wedding and I just knew this was going to be a good one. And I was right.

Rachel and Nate are the most genuine people. When they are with you they are very present. Their love and joy for life is contagious. They both come from very close families and their wedding was such a celebration!! Check out all the laughter and tears of joy below! Enjoy!
