Not even the rain could take away from this gorgeous Golden, Colorado Engagement photo session. As a Wedding Photographer in Denver, Colorado I absolutely love couples like this who are up for anything.
Cary and Amanda met at Earl’s Restaurant in Park Meadows ten years ago. She was the sweet, high school server and he was the outgoing and funny “older” bartender. (Her words not mine. 🙂 ) Cary always tried to date her but she wanted to be friends. Amanda soon left Colorado to attend Cal State University Long Beach. As friends, they stayed in touch and would see each other when she came back to Colorado for the holidays. Amanda says, “Regardless of where I was, or who I was dating at the time, there was always something about Cary that got me. I couldn’t quite figure it out, but it was always there.”
A while after Amanda moved back home to Colorado, Cary finally asked her out. She had heard talk of him referring to her as “the one” to other people and tried to put that out of her mind.
“I thought, no way! We’ve been friends for nearly 7 years—that’s weird. We can’t date. We went downtown to the Denver Chophouse, had an incredible time full of laughter, and we’ve been inseparable ever since…
Fast-forward: We’ve now been together for five years and have experienced so many wonderful things during that time—most importantly, the birth of our beautiful 2-year-old daughter, Ava. She is our entire world and has made our relationship more meaningful than I ever thought possible. Cary and Ava have both taught me what true love is.
About 6 months ago, Cary took me on an ‘adult’ getaway trip to Steamboat Springs. We spent three wonderful days, kid-free in the beautiful Colorado mountains. And on the Friday we were up there, April 10, 2015, he dropped to one knee on our balcony at the Steamboat Grande and asked me for forever. My tears were uncontrollable and I was in shock, so through the sobs I asked him, ‘Is this real life?’ And then I quickly followed with an ‘of course I will.’ My heart was SO full.
And here we are today. After nearly 10 years of friendship, 5 of which were spent in love, and one beautiful baby girl together, I can’t imagine what this next chapter will bring. I can’t wait to be Cary’s wife and him my husband. I will officially become “Mrs. Robichaud” on August 19, 2016, and I can’t even handle the excitement!”
I can’t wait for their wedding in August! Amanda is tiny, sweet, beautiful soul and Cary is a jolly, giant comedian! Watching them together is so blissful.
