Colorado engagement photography is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. A gorgeous couple with a beautiful outdoor backdrop. What could be better? And lucky for me, Tom and Ashley were color coordinated and very fun to be around. 17 Mile House Farm Park is a beautiful, open space park with tons of different areas perfect for an engagement shoot. Old barns, the Rocky Mountains in the distance, open fields, trees and creeks.
Ashley and Tom met through a mutual friend in February 2012. Ashely was in college and Tom was working in Oklahoma. The night they met they went to see Daniel Radcliffe’s horror film ‘Women in Black’. After that, they were inseparable.
Tom really wanted to propose on a hike with their dog but the rain this spring deterred his plans. So, on a rainy night in April when Ashely had just crawled into bed, Tom knelt down with 1.5 carat, oval stone. It was perfect–but way too big. 🙂 It’s okay because Tom did good!
These two are so goofy and so in love. Adorable, young, adventurers they are. I can’t wait to capture their gorgeous wedding at Pelican Lakes in Windsor, CO on September 3rd!
Ashley bought Tom this watch for the engagement shoot. It was a very nice touch. I love it!
Could we have found a more perfect stump in all of Colorado? I think the bare trees and warm tones really make these two pop out of the photo.
That ring, though. Good job, Tom, good job!
How cute are they? I love when couples can just be themselves.
Tom played hockey in high school and Ashley was a gymnast. But who is the gymnast now?
And last but not least, you can’t leave without a silhouette! You can even see Ashley’s beautiful smile against the sunset.
