A 2025 wedding trends bride and groom eating cake.If you’re like me, you’ve been on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what the 2025 Wedding Trends are! Trends come and go and that’s OK! I think they’re fun! Let’s let fear of “keeping it timeless” be damned. Timeless means no cell phones, no modern details, no whimsical bouquets! Who wants that?! Anyway, I digress. According to the Chinese Zodiac calendar, 2025 is the Year of The Snake! It’s no surprise then that my top 2025 Wedding Trend is:

1. Serpentine  Tables

The photo above is NOT an example of a serpentine table. There’s a good reason for that! This trend is so new that I haven’t even captured one yet! But make sure to check out some real example photos this article from The Knot offers. Serpentine is all in the name. It’s a long, winding table that looks like a snake. Many rental companies will be offering this in 2025! If you’re in Denver, Colorado Party Rentals offers 5 ft. and 4 ft. folding serpentine tables. If you’re planning to DIY this, check out this gold stainless steel S shaped table I found that comes with chairs! Looks like Global Event Supply also has 7 foot Serpentine plywood tables you can purchase.

2. Bridal Scarf

Picture this: you wear a veil for your ceremony and a scarf for your sunset pics + your reception. I’ve heard the bridal scarf referred to with several different names like scarf veil, neck scarf, or lace neck tie. I’m LOVING this being one of the 2025 wedding trends! The scarf (and dress!) in the photo above is from The Bridal Collection.

3. Vintage Wedding Cakes

Girl, you don’t have to tell me twice! I’m all over this. I’m drooling. I’m deceased. To say that I’m obsessed with this 2025 wedding trend is a complete understatement. As a child I used to dig through my parents wedding photos so this vintage wedding cake brings me back! It’s nostalgic and I promise you, your parents are going to appreciate this recycled trend so much. All cakes in these photos were designed and baked by Emily of Love Emily Bakery. Emily is the best in the biz at making these trendy cakes if you ask me. If you’re in the Denver area, don’t miss out!

4. Not Signing The Marriage License

Another trend I’ve seen is that some couples want a big celebration + ceremony but they don’t want to sign actual legal documents. Before everyone freaks out: this is still a minority group. It’s a growing trend yes, but it’s definitely not the majority of couples. I’m here for whatever you want to do! I’m in the camp of: you do you! And F**K everyone’s judgements.

Here’s a personal story about my wedding: while my husband and I did sign a marriage license, I didn’t take his last name. My family to this day questions me on it and can’t seem to understand. We all have our reasons. For me, I felt very controlled my whole life so by the time I got married (at age 31) I didn’t want to do anything that made me feel controlled. My husband was 100% on board and did not care at all that I chose to keep my last name socially and legally. And THAT is one of many reasons why he’s the perfect partner for me. He’s more than happy to go against the grain. We both question everything and only do what feels right for us.

Anyway, whether you have past baggage that is driving your decisions in life (guilty! LOL) or whether it’s just a gut feeling — do what feels right for you and your partner!

5. After Wedding Photo Session

The wedding may be over but the photos aren’t! As a photographer, I’m 100% down with this one being one of the 2025 wedding trends. Whether it’s a next-day session at a snowy hot springs resort or a late night session at your favorite fast food restaurant, having these REAL photos that tell a story is so meaningful. More and more couples are bringing their photographer along with them for parts of their honeymoon too! Steamy jungle pics in Bali? Intimate pool-side photos in Tulum? I’ll be your third-wheel with the camera in a heartbeat! (Obviously I’ll be staying somewhere else let me be so clear. LOL)
