This wedding took place at The Lodge at Cathedral Pines in the Black Forest. As a Colorado Springs wedding photographer, the forest is an exceptional place for a wedding!
Right after the ceremony Mel ran back into the bride’s room so that her mother and sister could bustle her dress. With so much emotion and joy she said to me, “You know I met [Stu] in a bar!? It’s just crazy that our paths crossed and now I’m here getting married.” I love that life works like that. One minute you are just doing life alone and the next you are planning a wedding. And with five kids between the two of them there is never a dull moment! Stu and Mel are always such a joy to photograph. They’re so goofy and up for anything. They really know how to make each other smile and I think that says a lot.
And starting with the portraits of the gorgeous couple… enjoy!
Now for the getting ready photos….
The flower girl gets her bangs cut a “a little” hairspray.
Mel asked her daughter to show me the family Chinchilla. I died.
The dress!!! OMG I love it.
We were attempting to do some bridal portraits when Mel’s dad walked in. I was so glad I was there to capture it! How cute.
Yup! POCKETS!
This is my favorite picture of Mel. She looks so beautiful!
Awwww.
I love this portrait of Stu!
