Sophie and Ben’s wedding at the Broad Axe Barn side of the ranch at Devil’s Thumb was gorgeous, and meaningful, and so full of life. Sophie is one of the sweetest and most relaxed brides I’ve ever met. When I walked into the Yager House, which is near the Broad Axe Barn, where Sophie was getting ready at the beginning of the day, she already had her dress on, and she was patiently waiting for the day to start. I’ve never seen Ben not smile. You need to see the way he looks at her!

Sophie and Ben were married overlooking the most Colorado-esque view that I have ever seen. Their reception was at the Broad Axe Barn, which overlooks the same view. Tabernash, CO has the most golden sunset in all of Colorado. As you’ll see at the end of the gallery, the hillside looks like it’s on fire. I really love the dramatic landscape at Devil’s Thumb Ranch.

We begin the day at the Yager House.
Normally, on this side of the ranch, many people get married under the wooden arches (to the right) but Sophie and Ben wanted the guests to see that gorgeous view, unobstructed. 
This bald eagle flew above the ceremony right before they kissed. Bald eagles symbolize strength and wisdom. And another fun fact: bald eagles mate for life! How neat to have a bald eagle bless your wedding.
And off they go as husband and wife. 
Right after the ceremony hugs and tears, they signed the marriage license surrounded by friends and family.
